SILENT HILL: Ascension

SILENT HILL: Ascension is a completely different game from the rest of the Silent Hill saga, offering an entirely new story, characters and, most importantly, a mechanic that is nothing like the franchise you know. Far from directly controlling a character, here, you can vote online to decide what actions and responses you want the characters in the adventure to have. How the story unfolds will depend on both your decisions and those of the other players.

A groundbreaking gameplay

The gameplay in SILENT HILL: Ascension is quite atypical and is closer to the social experiment than to the video game itself. The way it works is very simple. Each day, you'll be able to watch a new short video scene, between one and five minutes long, where you can see how the game's characters interact and how the story progresses. In these perfectly subtitled video scenes, something important will always happen. Your mission, along with that of other players around the world, is to decide what reaction you want the character in that scene to have to the events that have occurred. For this, you can choose between three different options. The option that receives the most votes will win and will determine the course of the adventure.

You don't need to watch the scenes live

Depending on which region you are in, new game scenes will be streamed live at different times. While it might be more fun to watch the live stream, it isn't necessary. You'll be able to watch all the videos on demand whenever you want and as many times as you want. You have all day to cast your vote, so if you have five minutes at any point, you can quickly watch the video and vote for the decision you want the SILENT HILL: Ascension characters to make. There's also no need to worry if you miss a video one day since you can catch up the next by watching any previous videos. The game is designed so that anyone can join at any time, even if they're two weeks late.

New monsters, new nightmares

One of the most exciting parts of SILENT HILL: Ascension is that, in addition to offering a new story with new characters, the game also features never-before-seen monsters.
